Next important regulatory deadlines in the framework of the BPR

Deadlines for the submission of the BPR dossiers in support of biocidal products containing some approved active substances for specific PTs are approaching. If your biocidal products contain any of the following active substances, you have to be ready for the submission in the next months:

– Dossiers for products containing Active chlorine released from hypochlorous acid or Active chlorine generated from sodium chloride by electrolysis for PT2, PT3, PT4 and/or PT5 uses → 1st of July.
– Dossiers for products containing Didecyldimethylammonium chloride and/or Alkyl (C12-16) dimethylbenzyl ammonium chloride for PT3 and/or PT4 uses → 1st of November.
If your products contain additional active substances or PTs yet under evaluation you have to submit your dossier at the not later than the date when the last active substance/PT combination approved.

Stay alert for the next Commission decisions on:

– Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium, extract from open and mature flowers of Tanacetum cinerariifolium obtained with hydrocarbon solvents or with supercritical carbon dioxide (pyrethrins) for PT19(Opinions published on 3/12/2021); Draft Commission Implementing Decision available. Expected date of approval 1st of February 2024.
– Didecyldimethylammonium chloride for PT1 and PT2
(Opinions published on 2nd of December 2021); Draft Commission Implementing Decision available. Expected date of approval 1st of February 2024.
– Alkyl (C12-16) dimethylbenzyl ammonium chloride for PT1 and PT2 (Opinion published on 2nd of December 2021).
– Ozone (Ozone generated from oxygen) for  PT2, PT4, PT5 and PT11 (opinion published on 1st of December  2021).
– 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one (BIT) for PT6 and PT13 (opinion published on 5th of October 2021).
– Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium, extract from open and mature flowers of Tanacetum cinerariifolium obtained with hydrocarbon solvents or with supercritical carbon dioxide (pyrethrins) for PT18  (opinion under development).

In addition, the following Commission Implementing Decisions postponing the expiry date of some widespread used active substances will be published in the following weeks:

DRAFT COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING DECISION postponing the expiry date of the approval of
etofenprox for use in biocidal products of product-type 8. Extended expiry date to 31st of October 2026.
– DRAFT COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING DECISION postponing the expiry date of the approval of tebuconazole for use in biocidal products of product-type 8. Extended expiry date to 30th of September 2026.
– DRAFT COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING DECISION postponing the expiry date of the approval of IPBC for use in biocidal products of product-type 8. Extended expiry date to 31st of July 2025.
DRAFT COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING DECISION postponing the expiry date of the approval of spinosad for use in biocidal products of product-type 18. Extended expiry date to 30th of April 2025.
