Europe: UFI code

A harmonization of the declarations of hazardous mixtures (physical and human health hazards) is being implemented at European level following to Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/542 (Annex VIII of the CLP Regulation). In this context, a Unique Formula Identifier (UFI) will have to be included on the label of these mixtures, and the following deadlines are set to submit the declarations containing a UFI number to the appointed body of the concerned Member State and/or to ECHA:

  • 1 January 2020 for mixtures for consumer use
  • 1 January 2021 for mixtures for professional use
  • 1 January 2024 for mixtures for industrial use

For the mixtures already declared to the appointed bodies before these dates (INRS in France), a transitional period runs until 1 January 2025 (except in case of major changes in the content of the declarations).

Please feel free to contact the Staphyt Regulatory team if you have questions or need assistance to submit these declarations.
