Due to the continued growth at the UK facility, Staphyt has decided to construct a new building for storage, next to the existing office buildings at Bucknell, Bicester.
The large new building (300m²) will be used for equipment storage and also for test items assuring a secured storage at constant temperature. The building also includes separate laboratory and freezer storage facilities.
STAPHYT LTD IS ALSO OPENING NEW FACILITY IN NORTHERN ENGLAND IN SPRING 2012
The new facility will be managed by Andrew Hunt, the former farm and trials manager at the Woburn Experimental Farm, of Rothamsted Research. Andrew, who has over 25 years experience at Rothamsted Research, ( the past 11 years as Farm and Trials manager), joined us in September, and has been working at Bucknell for the autumn season of 2011, to become familiar with the Staphyt methods and IT tools, and will be moving north with his family in January, to get ready for the new season in Spring 2012.
The new facility will give easy access to the arable areas of Northern England, allowing us to conduct trials on different cropping types and under different climatic conditions, and is also well located for Lincolnshire’s vegetable growing regions. The new facility will be located on a 250 ha mixed farm near Goole in East Yorkshire, with easy access to the M18 motorway, allowing us to conduct trials on this farm and also with co-operating farmers in other locations.
